No. ReLumina is an intense pulsed light (IPL) system. Lasers emit a single wavelength; IPL emits a filtered range of wavelengths. ReLumina uses 640–1200 nm for hair removal and 530–1200 nm for pigment and vascular treatments.
What is the difference between IPL and laser hair reduction?
Both use light energy absorbed by melanin in the hair follicle to achieve hair reduction. Laser hair removal uses one wavelength, while IPL uses a broader range, which lets one platform also treat pigmentation and vascular lesions. ReLumina is FDA-cleared for permanent hair reduction.
Is ReLumina FDA-cleared?
